NY Trip, Day 1

For those of you who don't know, I've just started leg 2 of my 2004/2005 winter holiday, which I'm spending in New York. sharonella reminded me the other day that I ought to be LJing about my trip.

Yesterday I got up at 3:45am to catch a 6:00am flight. Ugh. Then I almost missed the flight due to Russian-supermarket-style tactics employed by the United Airlines ticket agents (they made me stand in three different lines!). So double ugh to that.

Then, after many hours of uneventful flying and a layover in Denver, I did possibly the stupidest thing I've done in all of 2004: I left my GUITAR on the AIRPLANE! I can't believe what an idiot I am! Fortunately I realized my mistake before leaving the airport, and managed to obtain a special pass to go back to the gate and collect it. But any time now the Stanford-Binet folks are probably going to track me down and deduct 10 points from my IQ just for being such a complete moron.

I spent a few hours decompressing at 175560's apartment with springbok1 and Dylan and Tarah (I don't think they have LiveJournals).

Oops. Brian just made me watch a bunch of Strong Bad E-mail. Heh. Now we have to go eat brunch.
